ADAS/DSM Technology (Third Eye)
A life-saving solution

We Validate a Technology Created to Help

At RedGPS, we have validated a technology capable of saving lives: Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS/DSM), also known as Third Eye. All our customers can propose solutions that help not only companies and fleets but also individuals.

ADAS/DSM systems are included in some latest-generation vehicles. However, there are devices and sensors that can be installed in vehicles without this technology to monitor and remotely alert when a risk situation is detected.

What Is ADAS Technology?

Did you know that talking on the phone for a minute and a half reduces a driver's ability to react to an unexpected situation by up to 40%?

The ADAS system (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), also known as the Third Eye in some countries, is an advanced assistant for safe driving that detects potential risks in front of the vehicle and issues an early warning before an accident occurs.

It works with a set of devices, including a GPS or MDVR unit, a processing unit, and one or more cameras typically installed on the windshield, which identify different events such as lane departure, possible collision, pedestrian detection, among others.

These events may vary depending on the brand and type of device, but they commonly use recognition algorithms and sensors whose capabilities vary depending on the technology they use and the device's features.

What Is DSM?

When we drive at 100 km/h and divert our gaze for just a second, we will have traveled 27.8 meters without realizing it.

The DSM system (Driver Status Monitoring) is an assistant for detecting abnormal driving behaviors, which increases the driver's attention to prevent human and material damage.

In this case, algorithms detect facial features such as eyes, nose, mouth, facial contours, gaze direction, among others. This way, they are capable of recognizing fatigue, drowsiness, distraction, or even if the driver has fallen asleep.

It also identifies other behaviors that represent potential risks while driving, such as making phone calls, eating, or smoking.

Both ADAS and DSM systems are a reliable solution capable of reducing the number of accidents by up to 60%, avoiding or minimizing their consequences.

Driver and Monitoring Center Alert

This solution improves safety management and control by alerting the driver in the cabin with an audible alarm if, for example, they answer a phone call.

Furthermore, all the events recorded by the system are sent to the platform so that when they occur, they trigger an alert that can be received in the Monitoring Center or in our Mobile App.

The purpose of this technology is to protect drivers and people sharing roads and communication routes. Seven out of ten accidents are caused by distractions or fatigue; hence the importance of this solution.

Complete Integration on the Platform

The alerts we receive on the platform allow us to assess the condition of the drivers and take preventive measures. Additionally, if necessary, we can initiate video streaming to verify their well-being.

The events generated by ADAS/DSM devices are also integrated into OnDriving, so they can influence the driver's rating and raise awareness of their responsibility.

Moreover, you will also receive alerts such as sudden braking or record video evidence of the incident on the MDVR device, if the installed hardware allows it.

Application in Industries

The ADAS/DSM system is a solution applicable to passenger bus fleets, commercial vehicles, and hazardous substance transportation, such as chemicals or gasoline, or mining, where any kind of risk or accident cannot be tolerated.
