Base Block Iridium is a GPS device with the ability to transmit coordinates through the Iridium satellite communication channel. The solution is especially relevant for long-distance cargo traffic, as well as for monitoring vehicles, machinery, and stationary objects in remote areas without cellular coverage.
The Galileosky Base Block Iridium GPS device allows you to organize various data transmission modes, such as online monitoring (continuous communication support with the server), "hidden mode" (scheduled communication start), or offline monitoring (downloading saved files via USB). These flexible configurations, combined with the ability to simultaneously transfer data to two servers, internal memory up to 450,000 points, and the possibility of installing an SD card, allow for optimal monitoring mode and ensure data security.
Base Block Iridium is equipped with an Iridium satellite module for coordinate transmission in the absence of cellular communications. Iridium is the only satellite communication system in the world that provides high-quality telemetric data transmission with 100% Earth coverage.
If there is no GSM coverage, the device automatically connects the Iridium satellite module, ensuring uninterrupted data transfer to the server. Once GSM connection is restored, the satellite module disconnects, greatly saving the cost of satellite communication.
The data transmission protocol through the Iridium satellite channel contains additional fields for transmission through the satellite channel. This circumstance requires that the monitoring SOFTWARE provide information reception through the Iridium satellite channel.
